According to the German Cancer Association around a quarter of all tumour patients does not die due to the malignance of their illness, but due to malnutrition. Since 80 percent of all tumour patients suffer from unintentional loss of weight, physicians agree that nutrition medicine should be an elementary part of every tumour therapy. Loss of weight due to illness is caused by the reduction of fat and muscle mass. As a consequence, the quality of life is extremely limited.
Against the loss of appetite, for a quality of life
Traditional nutrition therapy with sip-feed and drip-feed nourishment only has a limited effect. We analyse the concrete shortage and apply an innovative concept for managing tumour-related loss of weight which counteracts loss of weight and appetite, physical weakness, anaemia and disorders of the electrolyte balance with intravenous supply of food supplements, and thereby maintains or returns the quality of life.
